U.S.’ “Enhanced Partnership with Pakistan” Annulled?

Yes, the bill, which if passed, that would have married the United States and the people of Pakistan for the next ten years (or perhaps only five, depending on how excellent a wife Pakistan makes) is indeed “legally dead” as many of its critics (the pro-India lobby) have declared.  That fact, however, is completely irrelevant. 

Bills routinely expire between Congressional sessions and this bill is likely to be redrawn in the next session.  The real question is whether or not suspicions about Pakistan in the aftermath of the Mumbai attacks will significantly weaken its support or result in harsher conditions for Pakistan to meet in order to receive aid when the bill is redrawn.
